Lemon #117. What should a
look like?
While reading ‘Outbound Sales, No Fluff’ from Rex Biberston & Ryan Reisert, we learned how a cold email should look like. They say:
There are endless variations on cold email outreach, so we won’t exactly cover what to say, but rather how to say it.
- Get to the point: Email is a very passive form of communication, meaning prospects can delete your message without ever reading it. You have to make every word count.
- Leverage the persona: If you know your persona, you can tailor your message to the problems they’re most likely experiencing.
- Use a single call to action: You can’t ask prospects to answer a question, click a link and read an article. It’s hard enough to get them to do one thing, so don’t get carried away.
- Don’t ask for the world: Be mindful on the weight of the task you’re asking them to accomplish. The bigger the request, the less inclined they’ll be to comply.
